  • Sci Tech’s 14-Step Carpet Cleaning Process

  • Step 1: Pre-Inspection
A superior service starts with a thorough inspection. Our technician will walk through your home with you to visually inspect the carpet. He will identify potentially permanent stains and give you an evaluation of expected results as well as listen to any concerns you may have. Some stains initially inspected by the technician and determined to be removable may not be removable. All stains and carpet are unique and numerous factors, such as length of time the stain has been there, will affect the outcome. Regardless of the outcome, we will apply our training and knowledge to each situation.
  • Step 2: Dry Soil Agitation
Using our professional carpet groomer, we will loosen soils from carpet were necessary in order to improve the performance of the vacuum.
  • Step 3: Commercial Pre-Vacuum
Dry soil is removed by thorough, commercial power-vacuuming. Removing dry soil is one of the most vitally crucial steps in any cleaning process.
  • Step 4: Furniture Moving
Our regular pricing includes moving sofas, chairs, tables, and smaller items. Beds, dressers, and heavier pieces cost extra to move. One of our consultants can quote the exact cost to move any heavier pieces. Furniture and carpet will then be protected by placing disposable foam blocks or plastic pads between them.
  • Step 5: Pre-Conditioning
A preconditioning agent is applied to emulsify and break down traffic area soil and general spots for a more thorough cleaning.
  • Step 6: Pre-Spot
Difficult spots are pre-treated with special solutions to increase the likelihood of successful removal.
  • Step 7: Pre-Grooming and Agitation
We will agitate your carpet with a pile lifting groomer to separate matted fibers, ensuring even distribution of cleaning and the loosening of soils for removal.
  • Step 8: Soil Extraction and Rinse
Thorough agitation and extraction with our Rotary Drimaster powerhead will be performed. This gently agitates carpet fibers and leaves 85% less residual moisture after cleaning compared to a Push Wand, which is solely used by most other carpet cleaning companies. This new technology will leave your carpets dry in as little as one hour, depending on some other factors such as the level of soiling in the carpet. This machine is not used in our Basic Package.
  • Step 9: Neutralizer
  • Your carpet will be pH-balanced after cleaning. This will slow re-soiling, remove any cleaning residue, and leave carpets soft and healthy.
  • Step 10: Post Spot
Any spots or stains still remaining after the cleaning process will get extra attention with our many specialty spotting techniques and solutions.

Note: Some stains by nature are permanent, but, if it can come out of your carpet, we can get it out.

  • Step 11: Carpet Protection (optional, but highly recommended)
Application of Carpet Protector prevents dirt from bonding to carpet fibers, increasing the performance of normal vacuuming, slowing resoiling, and preserving the appearance of your carpet. This product also provides a stain block to help prevent permanent damage to your carpet.

Warning: Not applying protector is the second biggest mistake most home-owners make. Unprotected carpet is more likely to stain permanently, resoil more rapidly, and wear prematurely.

  • Step 12: Post-Groom
Your carpet is groomed with a professional groomer so that the pile of your carpet is standing tall when we leave. Post grooming helps the carpet pile dry faster and in the right position.
  • Step 13: Speed Dry
High velocity air movers are placed on the carpet during the cleaning process to promote faster drying.
  • Step 14: Post-Inspection
We will ask you to take a walk through your home with our technician to inspect the results and to let us know what you think of our hard work.
